“Greta the Great”
Greta really loves Maeve. As soon as she hears the slightest baby noise in the mornings, she is blasting up the stairs to say hi to Maeve. It is so cute! I had some reservations about Greta becoming a big sister, however, she has done so well. She loves Maeve with all her heart. Just now she was reading books to Maeve. Maeve loves her sisters, I can see the look of admiration in her eyes. It's pretty special.
Greta turned 6 years old earlier this week! I just can't imagine life without my sweet and spicy girl! Greta had a big birthday party this year with lots of friends and a special guest - a witch! This witch was at one of Greta's friend's birthday parties in October and was kind enough to come to Greta's party. Greta loved her birthday party! She was such a happy girl. Seeing her so satisfied made all the stress and planning worth it. On her birthday, we made a special breakfast, I ate lunch with her at school, we made pizza and ate cake! Here's to being 6 years old!
Sometimes I still can't believe I have three daughters! They love each other so much. Sometimes it feel challenging to be mothering two very different phases, but I'm so grateful I get to do it.
I made Conor take some photos of Maeve and me. I felt like I was art directing, but I want pictures of myself and my baby so...
I live for Maeve's smiles! Luckily she gives me the most ;)
Maeve is 3.5 weeks old and life is still crazy. I haven't even attempted to find a new rhythm nor have I needed to with Conor's generous paternity leave. My days are filled with nursing Maeve, sleeping, showering and lounging. I'm trying to get out for walks. I'm looking forward to getting back on my feet again, but I'm also really enjoying nestling in and caring for my baby while everything else slips away. In it's own way it's beautiful.
I took some photos of my three girls yesterday. That was exhausting, but worthwhile. When the big girls are back in school all the daylight will be faded by the time they get home so I knew I had to take the opportunity.
We all love Maeve so much!
The afternoon before Greta's first day of kindergarten, she lost her first tooth. Losing teeth is SO exciting in our family, as I'm sure it is in all families. Greta was absolutely green with jealously when Holly lost her first tooth. She's anxiously awaited her special day. I think it's fun and I remember losing some of my teeth, but as a mom, I now know that with tooth loss, comes a big change in their smile and that's a little heart breaking. This watching your kids grow up stuff is hard! I need to keep having a baby every 6 years! (Kidding, sort of) Greta pulled her tooth out herself, after Conor helped loosen it up a little extra. Conor's great at getting those teeth just a little looser even though it hurts the girls. Here are some pictures of my cute girl!
